Aesthetics – they do not differ from natural teeth.

Functionality – flawlessly carry out the functions of the lost tooth.

Convenience – do not require special care, the patient does not feel that the prosthesis is something alien in the oral cavity.

So what exactly are fixed dental prostheses? What are the indications to their installation and which materials are they made from?

A crown is a cap that repeats the anatomical form of the tooth and is fixed to the cult of a tooth with a special cement.

Most often, crowns are used for the "dead" teeth which have significant destruction of the crown part. Crowns can be metal, metal-ceramic and non-metal (all-ceramic, ceramic on a framework of zirconium dioxide or all-zirconium).

An inlay is essentially a conventional tooth filling , but inlay made in the laboratory which is then attached to the tooth. Used for large areas of carious and non-carious lesions of teeth. May be metal and non-metal (completely ceramic).

Veneers are thin ceramic layers which are attached to the surface of the tooth. Most often, veneers are used to improve aesthetics of the anterior group of teeth. Veneers can be installed to change the color and shape of the teeth or correct the position of a particular tooth in the tooth row. Veneers are made of a special ceramic material.

Dental bridges are several interconnected crowns. They are used in the absence of one or more teeth, also, they can used for splinting teeth for the distribution of the masticatory load. Bridges are made of the same materials used for crowns.

Installing crowns, bridges, inlays and veneers at iStomatolog

The process takes several stages:

  • consultation, examination of the oral cavity and an X-ray analysis to determine a particular type of a dental crown/veneer to be used, compilation of a treatment plan, estimation of costs and timeframe;
  • dental treatment of a tooth for which a crown or veneer will be used (treating root canals, installing dental cores, replacing poor-quality filling materials, treating caries, etc.);
  • making imprints;
  • attaching a temporary crown or veneer (if needed);
  • attaching the final crown or veneer in 7 to 14 days upon making the imprints.

We offer non-metal designs for crowns, veneers and lumineers including pressed ceramic, ceramics based on zirconium oxide, zirconia crowns and bridge designs, as well as with metal designs including titanium, precious alloys, cobalt-chrome alloy, etc.
